Holding a framed picture assortment of his profession highlights, Roberto Bautista Agut bid an emotional farewell to Madrid at this time.
The 38-year-old Bautista Agut, who introduced 2026 will probably be his closing professional season, fell to Thiago Agustin Tirante, 6-2, 6-4 in his closing Mutua Madrid Open match.

I’ve performed and received the Davis Cup with Feli [Lopez] and with my teammates, I’ve had many achievements.
“However I’m left with all the things that tennis has taught me, with all of the values that by drive and necessity this sport has taught me. I’m leaving Madrid, perhaps I’d have favored to play somewhat higher, to be sincere.“
